Opportunities to Serve

The parish has special needs at this time for people willing to serve within the parish community.

Liturgical Ministers

  • Altar Servers – We have a need for servers at all weekend Masses. Boys, fourth grade and older, are welcome to learn to assist the priest and community at Mass. Ask your sons about serving. We will have a parents only meeting to organize the training and formation of these altar servers on Wednesday, September 29, 2004, at 7:30 PM in the Andrews Conference Room in the Atonement Hall. Call the parish office if you can attend this server meeting.
  • All Ministries – Sunday Evening Mass – We are looking for willing parishioners to minister at the Sunday Evening Mass. We need all types of ministers: Readers, Eucharistic Ministers, Ushers/Ministers of Hospitality, Musicians. If you attend this Mass or would be willing to serve at this Sunday evening time, call the office to volunteer your service to the parish community.
  • Ushers/Ministers of Hospitality – CTR is known as a welcoming community. We need friendly and gracious people to serve as ushers and ministers of hospitality at all Masses. This is an opportunity for individuals, couples, and families. These ministers welcome the people, take up the collection, facilitate the worship experience, give out bulletins, and wish worshipers well as they leave Mass. Community is all about hospitality. Call the parish office if you are willing to help in these ministries.
  • Religious Education – The children and young people of the parish need adults to help them learn about their faith. Catechists, classroom assistants, hall monitors, office workers, nursery workers, bilingual catechists (English-Spanish) are needed. Parents, single people, older parishioners with faith and time to share with young people, are all welcome. These young people are the future of the Church. Call the Religious Education Office and speak with Maureen Roan or Cindy Stalcup.

Parish Finance Committee – Additional members are needed for this committee, which meets quarterly to review and approve the parish budget, monitors financial protocols and quarterly reports, and assists the pastor and bookkeeper. Individual members serve on rotation monthly to reconcile the parish bank statements and our monthly reports. People with a business or finance background would find a home with this group of parishioners. If willing to assist with this stewardship ministry, call either Father Howard or Donna Ata, Parish Business Manager.
