Christmas 2004
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The wonderful Season of Christmas-Epiphany is a time of great blessing for all of us. It affords us the opportunity to prayerfully remember the actions of the Father in Christ. In that remembrance we find the peace and the joy which is our’s at the Birth of the Savior.
Once again this year, the liturgy of the seasons offers us the Word of God as the proclamation of the Birth of the Savior, the sign and covenant of God with our human family. Each year offers a different context for the celebration of Christmas-Epiphany. In a world where we read of war, human suffering, and the fear of terrorism the urgency to listen and appropriate the Word of God is more with us. May that Word of peace which is Christ continue to bless all of us along with our families, friends, and brothers and sisters throughout the world. May the Word which is spoken and born among us once again be our comfort, our peace, and our hope.
The year just past has been a year of continued blessings for the parish community. We have grown in numbers, in ministries, and hopefully in our experience of God in our lives. The year past has been a time of grace in celebrating the Sacraments together, in sharing the faith with children and adults, and in serving the needs of the needy in our area. You have continued to build up the Church with your faith and generosity of time and talent. Thank you for your continued living of gospel life together.
Father Bill, Father Lino, and I join with the staff of the parish community in wishing you the blessings of peace and joy in the Lord’s Presence. The shepherds and kings found the glory of God leading them forward to the Kingdom. May that same light which is Christ guide all of us into the New Year.
