Easter 2005
Dear Parishioners and Friends,
We join with the whole Church throughout the world in celebrating the Resurrection of the Lord. Let us discover and extend the peace and joy of the Risen Lord to one another.
As we have journeyed through the Lenten Season in our quest to explore the saving mystery of the death and rising of Christ for us, let us now celebrate his triumph over sin, darkness, and death itself. During this Great Fifty Days of Easter, let us allow ourselves to be embraced in the Presence of the Risen Lord among us.
Throughout the Easter Season, we will celebrate the Eucharist and discover once again the Lord, once dead, but now risen forever. Around the Eucharistic Table we will recognize the Lord, as did the early disciples, in Word and in the Breaking of the Bread. In this resurrection season we will continue to eat and drink with the Lord.
From this Eucharistic Table we are invited to find the Lord as we gather at our family table and at meals with our friends. This is the blessing that we are to one another – to be of one mind and heart in Christ Jesus. Let us share that oneness and peace with the needy and suffering of our world. The priests and other staff members join together in wishing you an Easter filled with the Lord’s peace and presence in our lives together.
