Dear Parishioners of Christ the Redeemer,
The most important and appreciated resource of any parish community are the People of God who make up the Church. The People with their faith, their zeal for the Gospel, and their shared life together allow Christ the Redeemer to be the people and parish which we are. With our growth in numbers, our new Church and facilities, and expanded programs allow me to congratulate you and to thank you for your continued participation in parish life.
In this weekend’s bulletin, you will find a summary annual report for fiscal year 2004-2005. This brief summary gives you an overview of how I, as your pastor, and how the parish has used the financial resources which you entrusted to me and to Christ the Redeemer Parish.
As you clearly see, the Sunday Offertory Collection is at the heart of meeting our ministerial and financial obligations. As the pastor, I offer a word of thanks to our regular contributors to our Sunday collection. Regular and generous giving are crucial to our parish life.
I am happy to report that we have been able to pay each installment of our mortgage loan to the Diocese of Arlington. Each month with your generosity we have met our obligation of paying thirty-one thousand dollars. As we enjoy our wonderful buildings for ministry, education, and service, we can congratulate ourselves on our working on our remaining debt of over l.7 million dollars.
Under cash balances, you see DIAL, which in fact is three specific accounts. These accounts are part of the Diocese of Arlington Deposit and Loan System. The total represents an “Operating Account,” “Organ and Furnishings”--which is for continuing projects with our building including our most recent chapel stained-glass window projec--and “Rooted in Faith/Forward in Hope,” which is our share of the diocesan capital campaign. The money in this last account will allow for the completion of the windows in the Guadalupe Chapel.
As a parish we are blessed with your generosity. I thank the parish Finance Committee for their continued sharing responsibility with me and for monitoring our procedures.
Sincerely,
(Fr.) C. Donald Howard, SA
Pastor
