At Christ the Redeemer we have many diverse opportunities to serve. You may be looking for where to serve the parish and wondering about where your talents could be used. You are invited to consider the four below:

PASTORAL COUNCIL – The Pastoral Council is a group of five or six parishioners who advise the Pastor about all manner of things in the parish. The Council meets four or five times a year and functions as an executive committee. In a conversational way, these parishioners, along with the Pastor, have an overview of the worship, prayer, educational, social, and outreach needs and programs of the parish. Members are people of faith with an interest in serving the Church and people in and outside the church community. They are people open to a broad view of the parish and possibilities.

FINANCE COMMITTEE – The Finance Committee advises the Pastor and shares oversight of the finances and management of the assets of the parish. The Committee is composed of five people along with the Pastor and the Bookkeeper. Their responsibility is to assist in the development of the budget, which they approve and monitor through the year. The committee meets quarterly throughout the year to approve the budget, and review the quarterly reports, and to monitor the year-to-date expenses, and to approve the diocesan annual report. Individual members on turn review and reconcile the monthly statements. Members are people with an interest in administration and common sense.

LITURGY COMMITTEE – This committee is a renewed hope for the parish. Members would be people of faith with an interest in liturgy and spirituality, music and the arts. They would be joined on the committee by the Pastor and the Director of Music. Quarterly meetings would be held to evaluate and plan for parish liturgies.

ART AND ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE – This is a working committee which provides for the environment of worship. The members meet before liturgical seasons and various religious feasts to plan for worship with flowers, fabrics, arrangements, and the ambiance of the faith community. Members are people of faith and prayer with an interest in art, flowers, fabrics as expressions of faith. The members often work together and sometimes subdivide for various tasks and festivals.
