It Takes a Community
It takes a whole parish to celebrate the Easter Mysteries. Even as Holy Week and Easter move away from us, we continue with the Great Fifty Days of Easter. A big thank-you from the community to the many people who served the many needs in the Liturgy.

  • Thanks to the Art and Environment Ministry with their many volunteers for decorating, arranging, and watering the plants. To the faithful core of ministers thank you and a welcoming thank you to the many new folks and families.
  • Thanks to the Liturgical Ministers for Holy Week and Easter. We appreciate the lectors, extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist, servers, ushers.
  • Thanks in a special way to the Music Ministry for their service at the Liturgies and for all the practice which went into a wonderful performing ministry. Thanks to the various choirs, cantors, instrumentalists, vocalists who combined their voices and talents in praise of God and to support the singing Assembly. Thanks to Diane Kingsbury, our Music Director, Danette Davis, our pianist, Patricio Onofre and the Coro.
  • Thanks to the Knights of Columbus, Good Samaritan Council, Sterling, for their ushering at the Great Vigil and for their help with the Blessing of the Easter Food. Your quiet presence and help was appreciated.
  • Thanks to the various catechumenal communities: RCIA, CIC, HASP, Adult and Young Adult Confirmation groups. Thanks to Jay Cuasay, Harvesta Greene Williams, Dora Marroquin and their teams of parents, spouses, sponsors, godparents, and other ministers.
  • Thanks to Donna Ata and the office staff for program and facilities support. Thanks to Sonny Lacy, Pedro Otero, and Max Leiva for picking and cleaning up after us during these days.
  • Not least of all thanks to our priest staff, Fr. Bill, Fr. Arthur, Padre Lino for leading us in celebration and preaching the Easter gospel to us.

Thanks to everyone from the Pastor.

Bishop's Lenten Appeal -- "Led by the Holy Spirit, we live our faith and share our gifts."

The AMD is a legal instrument authorized by, and meeting the requirements of, the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. The AMD can also be ordered through the Office for Family Life by calling 703-841-2550.

    Immigration Reform Legislation
A bipartisan group of Senators and Congressmen has introduced legislation, The Secure America and Orderly Immigration Act of 2005, to reform our immigration system. Bishop Gerald R. Barnes, Chairman of the Committee on Migration, US Catholic Conference of Bishops, expressed support for the draft legislation. He believes that it best reflects principles for immigration reform set forth by the US bishops. It would create legal avenues for migrant workers to enter the US in a safe and orderly manner, provide an opportunity for immigrants already here to work toward permanent residency, and provide additional visas for families to be reunited. You can add your voice to that of our bishops by encouraging your elected representatives to support the proposed legislation (S. 1033 in the Senate and H 2330 in the House).

    SALT Update
Social Action Linking Together (SALT): By joining your voice with others from the diocese you are really “making a difference.” Remember: “As you did it for the least of these who are members of my family, you did it for me.” (Matthew 25:40) For more information contact John Horejsi at his email and visit the SALT Website.
