Upcoming Blood Drive -- Help Us Reach Our Goal
225 is the number of blood donations we’d like to get from our four drives this year. If we achieve our goal of 225 units of blood, INOVA will give us a $200 Giant Gift Card to raffle off in December. INOVA is also giving us a $50 Giant Gift Card to raffle off at each of the remaining three drives (May 24, August 23, December 6). If you come to a drive, you might win the $50 Giant gift card, and your name will be entered into the drawing for the $200 Giant Gift Card. The more drives you come to, the more chances you have to win the Grand Prize, a $200 Giant Gift Card!
Our Next 2008 blood drive is Saturday, May 24, from 7:00 am-12:30 pm in Atonement Hall. Sign-up after Mass the weekends of May 10-11 and May 17-18.

Immigration Reform Legislation
A bipartisan group of Senators and Congressmen has introduced legislation, The Secure America and Orderly Immigration Act of 2005, to reform our immigration system. Bishop Gerald R. Barnes, Chairman of the Committee on Migration, US Catholic Conference of Bishops, expressed support for the draft legislation. He believes that it best reflects principles for immigration reform set forth by the US bishops. It would create legal avenues for migrant workers to enter the US in a safe and orderly manner, provide an opportunity for immigrants already here to work toward permanent residency, and provide additional visas for families to be reunited. You can add your voice to that of our bishops by encouraging your elected representatives to support the proposed legislation (S. 1033 in the Senate and H 2330 in the House).
