Faith Sharing Group

Young Adult Silent Retreat
Please join Father J.D. Jaffe and other young adults for a summer silent retreat - "Our Call to Joy" - August 13-15 at the Dominican Retreat House (7103 Old Dominion Drive) in beautiful McLean! Confirmation 2010
With joyous anticipation, we eagerly look forward to celebrating confirmation here at our parish on:

Please mark your calendars now, inform godparents, and talk to your family and friends who wish to come.
All are welcome.
All assignments that were completed and turned in during RE 2009-2010 have been returned to your families by mail. A letter regarding the Confirmation Retreat and the Confirmation Celebration Date was also mailed directly to your home.
If you still need any Assignments for your child, or have questions about the Confirmation 2010 group, please contact Jay Cuasay, DRE.
Future Confirmation
A flyer and questionnaire was sent home before Easter/Spring break, regarding upcoming enrollment for rising 7th and 8th graders for the first and second years of Confirmation Preparation. Please return questionnaires to Jay Cuasay, DRE, to help plan for the next Religious Education Year (2010-2011) and for Confirmation Preparation.

Parents of Children 8 Years Old or Older
If you have a child who has NOT been baptized and is 8 years old or older, the Children’s Catechumenate is for you! The Children’s Catechumenate is a Family Program that meets every Wednesday evening from 7:30 pm until 9:00 pm. The Catechumenate, with the involvement of the parents, assists in preparing the children for the celebration of the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist). Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)
"Ask and you shall receive, knock and it shall be opened…" Our petitions to God fall upon the mercy of the Lord. This week's readings highlight how our prayer practice invokes persistence and patient listening. God is not at our command, but he is Our Father, who wills to give to us much more, "the Holy Spirit to those who ask him."
Do you want to know more about becoming Catholic and deepening your share in God's fellowship? The old year is long gone…and the new year will soon be here. We are in need of Catechists for the following:
Tues. - 6:00 pm - Kindergarten, Grades 3 & 6
Wed. - 4:30 pm - Kindergarten, Grades 3, 4 & 5
Wed. - 6:00 pm - Kindergarten, Grades 1 & 6
Thurs. - 4:30 pm - Kindergarten, Grades 1, 3 & 6
Thurs. - 6:00 pm - Kindergarten, Grades 3 & 5
Due to the Diocesan Safe Child Policy, all volunteers must complete a Background Check as well as the Virtus Program. If you are interested in becoming a part of our Catechetical Ministry by being a Catechist in our Religious Education Program, please contact Harvesta Greene Williams, DRE, by calling 703-430-0811, ext.14, or by email. Grades 7 & 8 catechists are needed for the Monday 4:30 pm and 6:00 pm time periods.

New and returning families are invited to register now.
You may register after the English Masses during the month of June. Payment is due at the time of registration so be sure to bring your checkbook. If your child is preparing for a sacrament, you also need to bring a copy of his/her baptismal certificate with you.
We also take registrations during the week in the Religious Education Office.
