The Confirmation Preparation Program at Christ the Redeemer

Sacramental preparation for Confirmation at Christ the Redeemer is in addition to Religious Education for Grades 7-12 on Sundays or Mondays. Parents wishing to prepare children for Confirmation are expected to enroll them in an appropriate Religious Education class first. Parents will then be notified about Confirmation Preparation at Christ the Redeemer.

Preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation usually begins in Grade 7. Confirmation preparation is a two-year process. It begins in the fall of one Religious Education Year and the Sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated in the fall of the next Religious Education Year. Youth are expected to complete the Religious Education year after they have been confirmed.

Example: This fall enroll in Grade 7 Religious Education and start The Confirmation Preparation Program; next fall enroll in Grade 8 Religious Education and celebrate Confirmation in fall of Grade 8. After celebrating Confirmation, youth continue with their Religious Education year. which finishes in May.

As part of one's preparation for Confirmation, he or she is expected to serve the community by donating time or talent for the betterment of God's creation. A candidate can choose how to spend these hours in service, to be verified by the Director of Religious Education.
